CCFCS and Ukraine War

Rochester, NY… On the two-year anniversary of the conflict in Ukraine, Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS) continues to assist Ukrainian men, women and children seeking haven in the Greater Rochester area. Since February 24, 2022, CCFCS has helped resettle more than 1251 Ukrainian individuals who fled the war in Ukraine.

“CCFCS is proud to continue its assistance to newly arriving Ukrainians as well as others fleeing war, violence and persecution,” says Lori VanAuken, President and CEO of CCFCS. “Together with our community partners, we welcome refugees to Rochester in a spirit of fellowship and solidarity.”

Most of the Ukrainian refugees coming to Rochester do so through the federal government’s humanitarian parole program called Uniting for Ukraine (U4U). Rochester is the 16th largest American metro area participating in U4U. At CCFCS, Ukrainian refugees are provided with resettlement services ranging from food, transportation and housing to employment assistance and legal immigration assistance and referral.
